Hi,
I have encountered the famous motorcycle glitch in TRU. When I started the Southern Mexico level, there simply was no motorcycle present. You have to have it to complete the level. Unfortunately, I didn't know this when I started. I completed about two-thirds of the level without needing the motorcycle and saved the game, overwriting my previous save. Thus, I have no save that puts me before the beginning of Southern Mexico and no way of getting the motorcycle in my current save.
To remedy this, I tried to download a game save from gamefaqs.com. I have already figured out the whole /PS3/SAVEDATA/FolderName issue and successfully copied the unzipped file from my computer to my flashdrive with the right hierarchy of folders. The PS3 recognized the data and I successfully copied it over onto the PS3 hard drive. Now, when I turn on the PS3, and look in the Save Data Utility, there exists the correct Southern Mexico game save, complete with the correct Tomb Raider icon and everything.
Unfortunately, when I actually start up the Tomb Raider game on the PS3, and navigate to the 'load game' screen during game play, the game itself does not seem to recognize the save game file. It simply does not appear as an option at the 'load game' screen. I have triple checked that the save-game file that I am using is for the correct United States version of the game (not Great Britain or any other region). I have also tried repeatedly to navigate to the save file through the Save Game Utility screen and press Triangle to see more info. The only options that come up are 'copy', 'delete', and 'information'. None of these allows me to manipulate the file in a useful way that is relevant to my problem. Finally, I tried navigating to the game's disk icon from the PS3 menu and pressing Triangle there. The only options here are: 'start game', 'eject', and 'information'. Again, none of these allows me to do anything relevant to loading the save game.
I'm really stuck here and I hope I don't have to start back at the beginning of the entire game. I buy PS3 games only very rarely and in this case I've had some hilarious bad luck with this glitch. It really makes you mad to pay $50 for something that doesn't work right at all. Any ideas?
Cheers!
